K\u00e4r\u00e4v\u00e4 has worked as a portfolio manager at Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company and OP Asset Management where he led a team that was responsible for selecting the mutual funds used by OP in the Group&#8217;s products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sifterfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/jussi-karava-sifter-fund-hallitukseen.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5399\" width=\"295\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sifterfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/jussi-karava-sifter-fund-hallitukseen.png 590w, https:\/\/sifterfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/jussi-karava-sifter-fund-hallitukseen-500x500.png 500w, https:\/\/sifterfund.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/jussi-karava-sifter-fund-hallitukseen-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 295px) 100vw, 295px\" \/><figcaption><strong>Jussi K\u00e4r\u00e4v\u00e4 works as a partner in NorthPeak Governance, which is specialised in the board governance of funds.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSifter\u2019s investment strategy is very clear. There is a growing trend in the institutional field to invest globally instead of traditional geographical regions. That&#8217;s why I see a lot of growth potential at Sifter,\u201d says K\u00e4r\u00e4v\u00e4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a professional in the field, K\u00e4r\u00e4v\u00e4 was already acquainted with Sifter, and since last summer he has familiarised himself with the fund even more. Learning more about the fund has really convinced him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;The product is in great shape.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, K\u00e4r\u00e4v\u00e4 started as a partner at NorthPeak Governance, which was established by <strong>Timo Kaisanlahti<\/strong> and <strong>Jarkko Matilainen<\/strong>. It is the first company in the Nordic countries to specialise in the board governance of funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NorthPeak Governance\u2019s idea is to make the expertise of all of its employees available to all of its customers. Timo Kaisanlahti works as Professor of Practice in the Faculty of Law at the University of Helsinki. Jarkko Matilainen has worked at Varma for a long time. And the company&#8217;s fourth partner, <strong>Laura M\u00e4nnist\u00f6<\/strong>, is at Ilmarinen, a mutual pension insurance company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NorthPeak Governance&#8217;s customers arecompanies that operate in international alternative investment funds in particular. The number of clients is limited to allow sufficient time for all funds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the NorthPeak Governance quartet having solid experience in funds from an institutional investor perspective, the company invests in responsibility expertise (ESG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cESG is a topic everyone is talking about.
