Privacy policy – Sifter’s marketing register

Sifter respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data that you share with us. In this privacy policy, we will explain how we collect and process your personal data.

What is the basis for our data processing activities?

The processing of your data is based on our legitimate interest. Our direct digital marketing to consumers is based on your consent. You may revoke your consent to our digital direct marketing at any time.

Sales and marketing by email, phone and with face-to-face meetings

How do we process your data?

We process your data to market Sifter’s products and services to you if you are not a current client of Sifter Capital Ltd or to the entity that you represent if it is not a current client of Sifter Capital Ltd. Our marketing activities may include sales and marketing activities conducted by phone, email, at a face-to-face meeting or by mail.

Our legitimate interest does NOT include the following, meaning that we do not process your data in the following way:

  • the sale of your data to third parties: we will never sell your data to anyone
  • automated decision-making, including profiling: your data is not used to conduct any such automated decision-making or profiling activities that could affect your rights in any way.

What data do we collect and why?

In addition to your contact information, the data we collect may be related to your personal wealth, current service providers or family relations.

We collect your email address to be able to stay in touch with you by email. If you do not provide your email address and consent to our digital marketing, we will not be able to provide you with any current information on Sifter or its products and services.

We collect your phone number to be able to stay in touch with you by phone or text message.

In addition, we may also collect other information for a shorter duration. If, for example, you register for our event, we may ask if you have any dietary restrictions, but we will never retain this information for any longer than is necessary.

Where do we collect our data?

In addition to the data that you provide to us, we collect data from public sources, and we may also receive data from parties that you have allowed to disclose your data to Sifter. We may receive updates to your contact information from third parties.

Disclosure and transfer of data

We may disclose or transfer your data in situations where our partners act on behalf of Sifter to complete a task that complies with the purposes for collecting of your data, or when we use software that is maintained by another operator.

We have signed a written agreement with all of our partners, where the data processor’s responsibility in the processing of your data is clearly defined, and where the processing of your data is limited to only the processing specified in the agreement.

As a general rule, we do not transfer or disclose your data to anyone outside the EU/EEA. If for some special reason we need to do so, we will make sure that an agreement is in place to ensure that your data is protected to a level that corresponds to the level required by the EU’s GDPR.

Within Sifter, we may disclose your data when it is justified to do so.

We will never sell your data to anyone.

How long do we store your data?

We will store your data until you ask us to remove it, and we may also remove your data if it seems that you no longer wish to receive our marketing messages.
