Why does Sifter not invest in energy companies?

In the long term (5-10 years), companies in the energy sector are not predictable quality businesses. The earnings of energy companies are strongly linked to the prices of energy and raw materials and political decisions. The energy sector is also very susceptible to changes in the world situation, which makes the sector an uncertain investment target. Evaluating these in the long term is very challenging, if not impossible. Sifter predicts and analyzes business performance, not energy prices or political choices.
